Relentless (#2)
I’m going to tell you a story, part of it being archived elsewhere on this site, but I think it’s worth the redundancy, in case you miss it elsewhere.
Has to do with an In Search of Captain Zero Amazon.com reader review that showed up last June.
Click here for the reviewer's profile , which gives away who he really is…

(Before you read the below stuff you should have already gone to the above links in the order presented: Click them one at a time, clicking the Close at the bottom of each and going to the next one. If you have some time and pay attention, this stuff does get hilarious… In the morbid sense.)
If you go to Amazon.com you’ll see that neither review is now posted. This is because Amazon got cold feet about publishing my review and removed Brian Neumann’s even though I emailed saying DO NOT remove it, since I had already been libeled (it was on Amazon for a month) and taking it off did not repair the damage done to me. I demanded the right to reply to the libel, via the above review.
Amazon knew they’d fucked up by publishing Neumann’s libel in the first place and decided to cut their loses and take Neumann’s libel off, and then refused to publish my reply. (I’d cached Neumann’s libel beforehand.)
Again, I ask you to email Brian Neumann, maybe ask him why he libeled me, where he got his lies, and why he used Lindsey’s name.
By the way: The photo above and to the right is the real Lindsey. (Lindsey moved up to Jaco, which is why Brian and Lisa used his name — a current Pavones resident would have busted them on their lies.) I don't have a photo of Brian, but anyone who emails me one gets copies of all three of my books signed, plus my thanks.
You might also ask Brian when my writing went from “great” to “self-absorbed” and “vacuous.”
It would be really nice if Neumann’s Inbox got inundated, wouldn’t it? Please help me out in this, show your support. As you can see from his Amazon profile, Neumann’s email is bneumann@mac.com.
Although it would be interesting to hear from Neumann on this (please let me know if he replies to you), I can tell you where he got the lies: Lisa, my ex, where else? Neumann knew nothing about the matters he lied about in his review, but Lisa did; she knew just enough to concoct the lies. (For those of you who are privy to the Pavones land intrigues: She also lied about me to both sides of the conflict – to Dan Fowlie and Alan Nelson – trying to turn them against me. If you’re interested in this, use the link at the bottom of this page.)
If you care at all about truth and seeing to it that chronically dishonest people get their comeuppance, and if you care about (physically) unspoiled places and want to help them remain so, DO NOT BUY LAND FROM BRIAN OR LISA down at Pavones. These two are trying to get rich developing outback Costa Rica.
Getting involved in a land deal with dishonest people is dumb-ass anyway, isn’t it?
A final note: With Brian’s libelous review, with his transparently dishonest smearing of my integrity, he “opened the door” to my telling people not to invest with him, or his partner. Had he not come up with this completely dumb-ass move, I would not have had “good reason” to retaliate. Now I do have good reason, and every right, legal and moral, to brand him (and his partner) as dishonest.
As Lisa and Brian both know, part of the mission statement of my website (which Lisa helped me craft) is to give people advice on Costa Rican land buying, including who to avoid down there. They should have thought of that before libeling me in a public forum.
Depending on your sense of humor, you may or may not find this over-the-top dishonesty amusing. If you’re in the mood for more, some of it surreal, Click here …
